This year’s Suicide Prevention Awareness Day event will be sponsored by Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital. A special invitation has been extended to U.S. Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, in hopes that she will attend to promote the scheduled release of the updated National Strategy for Suicide Prevention. Other invites will be offered to Governor Haslam, Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey, Speaker of the House Beth Harwell, and Nashville mayor Karl Dean.
