Suicide and Population Groups

Suicide is neither limited to nor unknown among any ethnic, religious, or socioeconomic group.  People from all walks of life can suffer incapacitating mental illness or severe emotional trauma that can lead to suicide.

However, some of these groups have additional concerns that should be taken into account during counseling or in the course of suicide prevention outreach.  Click on the pages below to explore the interplay between suicide and age, occupation, race, culture, and sexual orientation.
