Proclamation Project

TSPN uses its annual Proclamation Project to elevate community conversations around suicide prevention during its observance of September as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. By partnering with state and local leaders and advocates, we ensure every corner of Tennessee recognizes and acknowledges the importance of suicide awareness.

Our Proclamation Project is more than a symbolic gesture. It is a powerful statement that shows state and local leaders prioritize suicide awareness. It encourages open dialogue and demonstrates a dedication to highlighting resources and support for those affected by suicide in our state.

Below is a listing of the proclamations signed by mayors, county executives, sheriffs, healthcare system executives, and school district superintendents designating September as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in 2024.
Governor Bill Lee also signed a statewide proclamation. We appreciate them for their leadership in bringing attention to suicide prevention, helping reduce stigma, and starting conversations that can save lives.

TSPN will soon launch its 2025 awareness campaign--reach out to
your Regional Director to learn how you can get involved and spread the message of suicide prevention within your community.
