S.A.F.E. Congregations Project

S.A.F.E. Congregations Project

The Suicide Awareness is For Everyone (S.A.F.E) Congregation Initiative recruits congregations to have members become trained in suicide prevention and also integrate suicide prevention discussions and events routinely into their regular work.

Congregations that are certified as S.A.F.E. are taking strides to be suicide-safer, and may be a place of support for those suffering from suicidal ideation, recovering from a suicide attempt, or grieving suicide loss.

Criteria to become a S.A.F.E. congregation:

  • Complete annual suicide prevention training;
  • Share suicide prevention resources throughout your congregation;
  • Provide ongoing suicide prevention outreach.
